I have been working at GVE Online Education part-time (More than 3 years)
Pros
Golden Voice English has awesome tutor support, excellent materials that are easy to use, ongoing training, and a great chatroom where teachers share ideas.
Cons
Although GVE’s pay is better than most, I have never received a raise in the three years I have been with them. As an independent contractor, I have to pay full self-employment taxes in the US and there are no benefits provided by the company.
Online teachers invest a lot of time outside of the classroom preparing for their classes which is not reflected in the hourly rate they are paid.
Advice to Management
Provide a way for your tutors to earn raises in their salary.
