A 3-day itinerary for the coastal town of Kanyakumari

A contemplative vacation can sometimes be just what you need to cleanse the clutter that has accumulated in your mind due to your mundane city existence. It goes without saying that having such an experience in such breathtakingly beautiful locations is a gift. This is essentially what a trip to Kanyakumari entails.

You can relax on the beaches while simultaneously seeking spiritual serenity to create an unforgettable experience. This is owing to the natural and spectacular beauty that this serenity has to offer. It is the most popular vacation spot not only for frequent visitors but also for first-time visitors. If you organise well, your three-day trip can be incredibly relaxing. If it’s about transportation, then there’s nothing to worry about. Many online platforms offer affordable and reliable transportation services.

Assuming that all the bookings are made, let us begin with the to-do list in Kanyakumari.

First Day: Drive to Kanyakumari

Enjoy a scenic road trip as you relax in your taxi from Trivandrum to Kanyakumari. Once you reach, you will be escorted to the hotel. You can check-in and freshen up after reaching the hotel.

Soon after, you can travel to Sarvani Shaktipeeth Shri Kanyakumari Bhagavathi Amman Temple to begin your day on a religious note by taking blessings from the deity. After that, if you are interested in beautiful architecture, you can visit Our Lady of Ransom Shrine which is a beautiful white colour catholic church with exotic architecture that will leave you awe-struck.

Remember to enjoy delicious and authentic food at a good local restaurant. You can have your dose of fun and entertainment by visiting Baywatch park which is an amusement and water park. You can end your day by witnessing the beautiful sunset.

Second Day: Drive to Kanyakumari and an all-day tour.

Begin your day with a mouthwatering breakfast in your hotel and get ready for another exciting day in the beautiful city of Kanyakumari. Head to Kanyakumari Beach for a totally unparalleled experience.

After that, take a ferry journey to the Vivekananda Rock Memorial, the site of Swami Vivekananda’s enlightenment and meditation. You may also pay a visit to Thiruvalluvar’s beautiful statue, which is directly opposite the Vivekananda Memorial. There are other temples in the area that you might visit for some peace and quiet. You have the option to go shopping for ornaments and other handicraft items, particularly made of seashells, which can be found in Kanyakumari.

Third-Day: Departure

The Gandhi Memorial is a good place to visit on the last day. After Gandhiji’s assassination in 1948, this monument carried his ashes. It was believed that the ashes were kept here for the people to pay their respects before immersing in the Triveni Sangam. Gandhi Memorial’s architectural style is similar to that of Odisha temples. The centre dome is 79 feet tall, signifying Gandhi’s age at the time of his death.

After that, you can visit Tsunami Memorial park to enjoy an amazing landscape and a beautiful monument. Lastly, you can visit the Southernmost tip to witness the peninsular region which will surely leave you amazed.

At the end of the day, you can’t help but notice the tranquilly that has swept over you as you rent a car in Trivandrum to return to the airport or railway station for departure.  Road excursions are always a real treat. Few things compare to the sense of freedom and excitement that comes with it, and a road trip is precisely what you need to put the blues behind you.
