Earning WoW Classic gold without relying on a profession can be tricky, but it can be done. You just need to be patient and not mind the grind; you also need to know the best ways to go about this. Raptors in Whelgar’s Excavation Site
A good early game choice would be Whelgar’s Excavation Site. This can already be done at around level 25, so while there are many other areas that will yield you more EXP, this is a good choice if you don’t mind slowing down the grind a bit in exchange for surefire riches. The place has become overrun by two kinds of raptors: the Mottled Scythemaws and Mottled Razormaws. They drop Medium Leather, which fetches a rather good price from those engaged in skinning. Aside from that, you also get quite the vendor trash WoW items from them, as well as raptor eggs. The former won’t get you much gold, but the latter is quite valuable to those that want to level up cooking.
However, the biggest means of earning gold from them is the level 19 Twink Gear (Feet of the Lynx, Sentry Cloak, Redbeard Crest, and Twisted Chanter’s Staff). Colonel Kurzen’s Men in His Compound
Colonel Kurzen’s compound is also a great place to earn dough in Vanilla WoW. A talented Stormwind officer and expeditioner, he was slain by a powerful Orc mage, but his men continue to be loyal to him. They’re also a great way for you to get Silk Cloth, which are your general vendor trash WoW items, and Wool Cloth, which is the main means of earning money in the area.
If you have a rogue, then this particular area is good for farming, thanks to their ability to Pickpocket humanoid mobs. However, being the humanoid mobs that they are, they run away when they’re in low health and call for backup. Thus, the safe level to take on this map is around 34-36—preferably the latter.
Isle of Dread Chimaeras
As the name of the place suggests, the Isle of Dread Chimaeras is full of the dangerous Elite Chimaeroks and Arcane Chimaeroks. But you know what they say: no guts (in this case, literal), no glory, so you’ll be heading there to earn gold. Aside from their vendor trash WoW items, which are definitely not bad profit-wise (as they should, because they’re endgame enemies), they’re the only source of Chimaerok Tenderloin, which is used to create +25 Stamina Food, making it a must-eat of warriors. To earn even more from this special kind of meat, we recommend that you cook them.
