Oregon's Kamar Mothudi Rumored to Enter Transfer Portal

Oregon is set to lose one of its promising edge rushers. Kamar Mothudi, who primarily plays as a rushing linebacker, has thrown his name into the hat for what has been one of the most amazing transfer portal sessions. Even with so much raw talent, Mothudi didn’t get much action on the field in his sophomore season.

Mothudi, a 4-star recruit, joined Oregon in 2024 and was expected to be a pass disruptor for Oregon. long-term fixture on the defense with his pass rushing. The linebacker played in just one game in his 2024 redshirt season, seeing the field against Penn State in the Big Ten Championship Game. However, coming into the 2025 offseason, the Oregon coaching staff didn’t use Mothudi to his full potential. Mothudi, in 2025, played in six regular-season games and finished with four tackles in under 25 snaps.

Whatever school Mothudi attends, he will bring plenty of upside. He is a redshirt sophomore, so he will have three full years of eligibility to hit the field.

If Mothudi does leave, it’s not clear who his replacement will be. Oregon, coming off a loss to the Hoosiers in the Peach Bowl, is a race to maintain its core. While the Hoosiers surprised many in the football world and International oddsmakers like NZ betting sites, Oregon’s loss is quite disappointing.

Star running back Jay Harris has already committed to Kansas State through the transfer portal. It turns out Harris entered the transfer portal before the Peach Bowl loss to Indiana. Still, Harris flashed his talent, carrying the ball a career-high 16 times. In his two years at running back, Harris ran 52 times for 186 yards and three touchdowns. Proving that he can catch out of the backfield, Harris also finished with seven catches for 91 yards.

To make matters worse, Oregon tight end Roger Saleapaga entered the transfer portal. Also, defensive stalwart Terrance Green has entered the transfer portal.
