Why Does My Vagina Feel So Loose? How Can I Tighten It?

Just like the other muscles of the human body, the vaginal muscles too are elastic in nature. This means that due to various factors such as aging or other factors, the vaginal muscles may feel loose, although the vaginal muscles tend to retain their original shape and size. Apart from vaginal laxity, over a period of time, certain factors can lead to various changes in the overall vagina like dryness, scarring, painful intercourse, loss of sexual pleasure etc. Gynecologists strongly assure that the vagina never completely loses its elasticity.

Why Does My Vagina Feel So Loose?

Below are briefed the major factors which are likely to cause changes in the vagina, with various factors causing or aggravating it:

  • Childbirth– It is indeed obvious and completely normal for the vagina to undergo a change in flexibility after a vaginal delivery. The vaginal canal stretches out to a large extent as the baby comes out. The vaginal tissues need to stretch a lot to allow the baby through during childbirth. However, the vagina starts snapping back to its pre-baby shape and state in a few days after the childbirth. In most cases, the vagina goes back to its original position and regains its original shape in weeks following the delivery.

After childbirth, the female should consult a gynecologist about the methods or ways which can help vagina regain its pre-baby shape and size.

  • Aging- The elasticity of the vagina tends to decrease as the female starts aging. With menopause, comes a drop in the estrogen levels. This can directly affect the overall health and state of the vagina. Vaginal dryness and painful sex are common in most females after menopause. Additionally, aging may also make the vagina feel loose, less flexible, and change its normal pH level.
  • Sexual Intercourse- There are various debates to whether sexual intercourse causes vaginal looseness in the long run or it is just a myth. But various exoperts believe that sex may contribute to the changes in the vagina in the long run. However, there are no major changes in the vagina caused due to sex.

How can I tighten my vagina?

As discussed above, it is normal and obvious for the vagina to undergo changes in its elasticity and lubrication. Pelvic floor exercises are very helpful in strengthening the vaginal muscles and increasing elasticity. Vaginal exercises such as kegels are actually beneficial and work effectively. But, the common concern of most females is that pelvic floor exercises  generally take quite some time to show benefits and results of these exercises.

Like all muscles in the human body, vaginal muscles also benefit from exercises. Below are some effective vaginal tightening exercises:

●       Kegels

Kegels is one of the most  effective vaginal tightening exercises that experts even swear by. Kegel exercises strengthen the vaginal muscles and pelvic floor muscles. In fact, kegel exercises can also treat urinary incontinence (also known as urinary leakage) in the initial stages of the problem.

Kegel exercises basically involve relaxing and tightening of the vaginal muscles, which regulate the urine flow.

  • To do Kegel exercise effectively, empty your bladder and lie down or sit comfortably.
  • Tighten your vaginal muscles and hold for about 5 to 8 seconds
  • Relax for 10 seconds and repeat the same. You can do 6 to 10 sets of the same at one time. But do not overdo, start with small sets initially.

Repeat the exercise twice or thrice at different times of the day. Do not overdo this exercise or it can cause soreness or pain during intercourse.

Do not do kegel exercises while urinating as it can harm the vaginal muscles and may also cause damage to the kidneys in the long run.

●       Squats

Squats are already pretty popular among females. Squats are not just great for the vaginal muscles, but also for the core, buttocks, hamstrings and quadriceps.

Do squats everyday and you can expect results within a few weeks.

●       Medicine Ball Sit-ups

Medicine ball sit-ups is an effective exercise for the pelvic floor muscles and also for toning the abs.

Exercise every day and do 3 to 4 sets to start seeing rapid results.

When will I benefit from vaginal tightening exercises?

Most women fail to consistently do the vaginal exercises due to busy schedules, or other reasons. Obviously, it is normal for one to get impatient because the results take a really long time to show up. Well, there is a much simpler way out.

An adult female can undergo surgical or cosmetic gynecological procedures to tighten the vagina. Vaginal tightening procedures like vaginoplasty and laser vaginal tightening, provide instant yet long lasting results, making the vagina feel tight again. With the vaginal tightening procedures, the female can get relief from urinary leakage, looseness in the vagina, and loss of sexual pleasure.

What is the best way to tighten vagina?

Vaginal tightening gynecological procedures such as vaginoplasty and laser vaginal tightening can effectively tighten the vagina with results lasting for several years. Vaginoplasty is a surgical procedure which involves the use of dissolvable sutures which heal in 3 to 4 weeks.

Laser treatment for vaginal tightening is a minimally invasive laser procedure which involves no cuts, sutures or blood loss. Laser vaginal tightening is not a surgical procedure and each session of vaginal tightening is completed in under 20 minutes.

Laser vaginal tightening stimulates collagen growth in the vagina. The number of sessions needed for optimum results can be suggested by the gynecologist after diagnosis. For best results, 3 to 4 sessions of vaginal tightening are recommended, each at a gap of around 4 weeks.

Consult the best gynecologist to undergo safe and effective laser vaginal tightening.
